Nyamira County, (Prime Africa) West Mugirango Member of Parliament Stephen Mogaka on Friday hosted Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba for the official commissioning of new education infrastructure projects in Nyamira County, a move aimed at enhancing learning environments and promoting academic excellence across the region.
The Cabinet Secretary commissioned a newly constructed multipurpose hall at St. Peter’s Nyaisa Secondary School and laid the foundation stone for a modern administration block at Kebirigo Primary School, both situated in West Mugirango constituency.
Addressing the gathering, MP Mogaka expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Education for its continued support to schools in the area and thanked the CS for personally officiating the important occasion.

“We are privileged to have you here today. These projects will go a long way in improving the quality of education in our constituency,” said Mogaka. “I encourage you not to tire when we call upon you again to support future educational development initiatives.”
In his remarks, CS Ogamba commended the collaborative efforts between school administrators, Boards of Management (BoMs), and contractors, which he said ensured efficient utilization of public resources designated for educational infrastructure.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the cooperation by the school heads, the BoMs, and contractors who ensured that the infrastructure funds were well utilized to uplift education standards,” said the CS.
The Cabinet Secretary also acknowledged the critical support of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) in advancing the education sector. He highlighted their contributions in constructing new school facilities, awarding bursaries, and providing sanitary towels to school-going girls.
“These efforts ensure that no child, especially girls, stays out of school due to lack of basic necessities,” Ogamba added.

NG-CDF Chief Executive Officer Mr. Yusuf Mbuno, who accompanied the CS, emphasized the Fund’s significant impact across the country. He also encouraged public participation in forthcoming forums following a recent court ruling that declared the Fund unconstitutional.
“NG-CDF has transformed learning environments across the nation. I encourage the public to attend next week’s public participation forums and contribute their voices on its future,” Mbuno said.
The event attracted several dignitaries including Nyamira County Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi, Kitutu Chache North MP Japheth Nyakundi, local Members of the County Assembly, NG-CDF board members, and Kisii County teachers’ union officials.
The newly commissioned projects are expected to reduce congestion, enhance administrative efficiency, and provide conducive learning environments for students and staff in the beneficiary institutions.
