U.S. Launches Major Combat Operations in Iran as Regional Tensions Escalate – BREAKING

U.S. President Donald Trump announced Saturday that the United States has begun what he described as “major combat operations” against Iran, marking a dramatic escalation in Middle East tensions and raising fears of a wider regional conflict.

In a video message shared on Truth Social, Trump said the strikes are aimed at destroying Iran’s missile capabilities and “annihilating its navy,” while warning that U.S. casualties are possible.

“My administration has taken every possible step to minimise the risk to U.S. personnel in the region. Even so … the Iranian regime seeks to kill,” Trump said.

The Pentagon confirmed that the U.S. military operation has been named Operation EPIC FURY, with strikes expected to continue over several days. A U.S. official indicated that the campaign is broader in scope than previous attacks and may target multiple military installations.

This marks the second round of U.S. strikes on Iran since Trump returned to the White House. In June, Washington conducted attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, citing concerns over Tehran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Officials in Tehran warned that a “crushing” response is being prepared. Meanwhile, Israel reported that missiles were launched toward its territory, signaling a potential expansion of hostilities across the region.

Trump issued a direct message to members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), urging them to lay down their weapons in exchange for immunity, warning that the alternative is “certain death.”

The strikes follow weeks of unsuccessful negotiations between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The most recent talks ended Thursday without a deal.

“Iran refused, just as it has for decades… They rejected every opportunity to renounce their nuclear ambitions, and we can’t take it anymore,” Trump said.

In a controversial statement, Trump encouraged Iranian citizens to take control of their government after the strikes conclude.

“When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations,” he said.

The remarks come after months of unrest inside Iran, where nationwide protests were met with a violent crackdown that reportedly left thousands dead.

The unfolding conflict has sparked international concern over potential disruptions to global energy supplies, regional stability, and civilian safety. Analysts warn that continued escalation could draw in multiple actors across the Middle East, further complicating an already volatile geopolitical landscape.
