This year’s great Chepsaita Marathon dubbed run for Education is expected to give back to needy students to the tune of KSH 10,000,000 in ten schools.
Speaking at Chepkemel Chepsaita during a press briefing on preparedness of the event, the patron of the marathon who doubles as President William Ruto’s personal assistant Farouk Kibet said the run targets to uplift needy children through scholarships so that their lives can be transformed through Education.
I am happy to announce that because of this race more than 1,000 students from 10 different schools will receive 10,000 shillings worth of scholarships paid directly to their schools to support their education, he said.
He added that many parents are struggling to raise fees for their children, citing that the problem can be eradicated if stakeholders join hands to support the vulnerable children.
“If we all come together, no child will drop out of school for lack of fees, if we all come together, no parent will bear the indignity of a child staying at home when they are supposed to be in school, if we all come together and RUN FOR EDUCATION, we will achieve not just individual but communal success,” he added.
