NAIROBI — Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, on Wednesday night welcomed the Spiritual Leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, upon his arrival in Kenya for a short visit.
Dr. Mudavadi used the occasion to acknowledge the Dawoodi Bohra community’s remarkable economic footprint, particularly its contribution to strengthening Kenya’s manufacturing base in key sectors such as glass, aluminium, and paper production.

He noted that the community’s investments extend beyond manufacturing to real estate, infrastructure development, and the banking sector, playing a critical role in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and attracting investment across the country.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary described the Dawoodi Bohra community as a vibrant and entrepreneurial Shia Muslim community that has been an integral part of Kenya’s social and economic fabric, widely recognised for its enduring contribution to national development.
Beyond business, Dr. Mudavadi highlighted the community’s strong commitment to philanthropy, citing its continued support for healthcare and education initiatives that improve livelihoods and expand opportunities for many Kenyans.
He said these contributions are evident across the country and reflect a shared commitment to progress, dignity, and inclusive development.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is in Kenya for a few days, with the visit expected to further strengthen ties between the government and the Dawoodi Bohra community, reinforcing their longstanding partnership in Kenya’s development journey.
