East Africa’s most influential healthcare event, WHX Nairobi 2025, officially opened today at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) under the patronage of Kenya’s Ministry of Health, marking the start of a transformative three-day gathering dedicated to advancing patient care, health innovation, and medical collaboration across the region.

Now in its seventh year, WHX Nairobi—co-located with WHX Labs Nairobi—brings together global leaders, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and innovators to shape the future of healthcare in East Africa through collaboration, investment, and shared expertise. The event enjoys strong institutional backing from the Ministry of Health Kenya, Africa CDC, Kenya Healthcare Federation, and the Kenya Medical Association, reinforcing Kenya’s growing reputation as a regional medical hub and a leading advocate for Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Part of the global World Health Expo (WHX) portfolio, which includes flagship editions in Miami, Dubai, Cape Town, Lagos, and Kuala Lumpur, the Nairobi edition is expected to draw over 8,000 visitors, 300 exhibitors, and 65 international speakers representing more than 20 countries.

This year’s edition is the largest and most ambitious to date, featuring new zones and initiatives aimed at sparking innovation and inclusion. Global healthcare brands such as Beckman Coulter, Snibe Diagnostic, Randox, and Radiometer are joining top regional innovators to unveil cutting-edge solutions that promise to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and the quality of healthcare delivery across Africa.

Participants will engage in discussions spanning healthcare policy, digital transformation, and primary healthcare, with opportunities to earn up to 15 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points through specialized conferences and expert-led sessions.

WHX Labs Nairobi, formerly known as Medlab East Africa, provides a dedicated platform for laboratory professionals to collaborate across disciplines such as diagnostics, microbiology, and genomics. The lab sessions will highlight groundbreaking innovations redefining modern medical practice and strengthening the role of diagnostics in effective healthcare delivery.

In addition, two pioneering initiatives debut at this year’s expo. The Women 50/50 programme, led by Philana Mugyenyi, promotes gender balance in healthcare leadership through targeted training and mentorship. Meanwhile, the Leaders in Healthcare Roundtable—supported by President William Ruto and the Ministry of Health—brings together ministers, industry leaders, and global stakeholders to accelerate strategic healthcare transformation and investment in the region.

A Model for Sustainable Events

WHX Nairobi 2025 is also setting new sustainability benchmarks in event management. Organisers have adopted a circular operations model, eliminating paper tickets in favor of digital badges, using recycled signage, and implementing a comprehensive recycling programme. The Sustainable Stand Awards will recognize exhibitors championing eco-friendly designs, reflecting WHX’s global commitment to sustainability—many of its 15 global events now run entirely on renewable energy.

As WHX Nairobi 2025 officially opens, healthcare professionals, innovators, and decision-makers from across the world are converging in Nairobi to shape the next chapter of East Africa’s healthcare transformation.

WHX Nairobi and WHX Labs Nairobi run from October 22 to 24, 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi.
