WASHINGTON DC, USA – President William Ruto has arrived in Washington, D.C., at the invitation of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, where he is set to witness the signing of the Democratic Republic of the Congo–Rwanda Peace Agreement — a major diplomatic milestone aimed at restoring stability in the Great Lakes region.
While in Washington, President Ruto will also oversee the signing of the Kenya–US Health Cooperation Framework, a new pact that transitions Kenya’s 25-year health partnership with the United States into a sustainable, government-led model. The agreement is designed to accelerate Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and strengthen Kenya’s path toward a self-reliant health system by 2030.
Beyond the high-level signings, the President will engage in strategic discussions focused on expanding trade, boosting investment, and deepening security cooperation between Kenya and the United States.
