BUSIA, Kenya – The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Saturday carried out a coordinated search operation targeting six senior officials of the County Government of Busia over allegations of procurement irregularities, conflict of interest, theft of public funds, and unexplained wealth.
The high-profile operation is part of ongoing investigations into tenders worth KES 1.4 billion, allegedly awarded during the 2023/24 and 2024/25 Financial Years to 26 proxy companies linked to the suspects’ family members and close associates.
The officials under investigation include:

According to the EACC, the search operation, conducted simultaneously at the officials’ offices and private residences, yielded critical documentary and electronic evidence to support the probe.
Following the raids, all six suspects were escorted to the EACC Western Regional Offices for statement recording.
EACC has pledged to pursue the matter to its logical conclusion, with potential actions including prosecution and the recovery of unexplained assets.
“The Commission remains firmly committed to holding public officials accountable and recovering stolen public resources,” the EACC said in a statement.
This investigation is the latest in a series of anti-graft crackdowns targeting county governments across Kenya as authorities intensify the fight against corruption in public service.
