Vihiga, Kenya – Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, has called on elected leaders to put service delivery at the forefront of their mandate rather than offering excuses or shifting blame.
Speaking during the commissioning of a newly installed X-ray machine at Itando Mission Health Care in Hamisi Constituency, Vihiga County, Mudavadi underscored the need for leaders at both county and national levels to take a proactive approach in addressing challenges that slow down development.
“Leaders must take responsibility and act decisively to improve the lives of the people they serve,” Mudavadi said, urging residents to hold their representatives accountable by demanding tangible results.
The event marked a significant step in boosting healthcare services in the county, as the X-ray machine—donated by the Kenya Pipeline Corporation Foundation—is expected to ease access to diagnostic services and save residents from the burden of traveling long distances for medical imaging.
Mudavadi lauded the partnership, noting that government collaboration with private and corporate entities is essential in bridging healthcare gaps, particularly in underserved regions.
The commissioning ceremony reinforced the administration’s broader commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the country, in line with its agenda to enhance universal health coverage and reduce regional inequalities.
