Nairobi, Kenya — Kenya has officially welcomed East African Community (EAC) member states to take part in the 25th EAC Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Trade Fair scheduled for November 7 to 16, 2025, at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
The announcement was made on Thursday during the launch of the National Organizing Committee, presided over by Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and MSME Development Wycliffe Oparanya, alongside Beatrice Askul, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of East African Community and Regional Development.
CS Oparanya said the annual expo remains a vital platform for entrepreneurs to showcase innovations, exchange knowledge, and forge partnerships that enhance regional trade and value chains.
“Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises are the backbone of our regional economies. This year’s fair in Nairobi will not only celebrate 25 years of EAC collaboration but also provide a space for our innovators to connect, trade, and grow together,” said Oparanya.
He affirmed that Kenya is fully prepared to host the event and reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the MSME sector through enhanced market access, increased financing opportunities, and digital transformation programs aimed at improving business competitiveness.
The Cabinet Secretary also emphasized the importance of Buy East African, Build East Africa, an initiative designed to boost consumption of locally produced goods and deepen economic integration among partner states.
CS Askul echoed the message, noting that the trade fair plays a strategic role in boosting intra-regional trade and improving livelihoods at the grassroots level.
The expo, organized by the EAC Secretariat in collaboration with partner states, will draw participants from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thousands of exhibitors are expected to showcase products spanning agro-processing, textiles, leather goods, crafts, renewable energy technologies, and digital innovations.
Officials say the 2025 edition will highlight the achievements of regional integration over the past two and a half decades and spotlight the role of MSMEs in sustainable economic development and job creation across East Africa.
